The University of Washington opens in Seattle, Washington as the Territorial University.

The Great Seattle Fire destroys the entirety of downtown Seattle, Washington.

1916

In Seattle, Washington, William Boeing and George Conrad Westervelt incorporate Pacific Aero Products (later renamed Boeing).

1934 West Coast waterfront strike: In Seattle, police fire tear gas on and club 2,000 striking longshoremen. The governor of Oregon calls out the National Guard to break a strike on the Portland docks.
